After the great success of last year edition, this year as well our White Truffle Festival will take place at the UNA Hotel Versilia **** Sup.
Situated in a quiet place, right in front of the fine sand beaches of Lido di Camaiore, the hotel boasts a strategic, central position.
The hotel design is stylish and all the rooms feature either a balcony or a terrace. After a busy day of our programme, you can relax at the wellness centre of the hotel.
Of course the main highlight is represented by the pleasures of the palate: during 3 dinners you will taste delicious creations based on white truffles which become every year increasingly popular. Furthermore, this year you will get a special surprise: we will take you to the forest, on a truffle hunting excursion, helped by a real sniff out-truffle-dog. Besides, to make your stay more pleasant we propose you a romantic boat trip to the Cinque Terre and three rounds of golf on two of the most beautiful Tuscan golf courses. All this in the cosy, welcoming atmosphere of Tuscany.

The white truffle is the protagonist, of course...
Supernatural powers and therapeutic effects were ascribed to this precious bulb that grows only on special grounds, in special weather conditions. Its origin remained unknown for a long time, until when Teofrasto di Ereso, one of Aristotle’s students, found a “plausible” explanation for it: “Truffles grow in Autumn thanks to rainfalls and thunderbolts. In fact lightnings are the main cause for their birth.”
The most important and valuable kind of truffle is the “Tuber magnatum pico”, also known as white truffle: it can only be found in Alba (Piedmont) and San Miniato (Tuscany). The delicate, white truffle of Alba - whose taste is more refined than the other one - is much more renowned than its “relative” of San Miniato, maybe because Tuscans prefer to keep it for themselves rather than sharing it with other people!
