We are pleased to introduce and welcome our 7th “White truffle event”. Also this year we will present a wonderful programme and after the big enthusiasm of the last year’s edition we are waiting impatiently to welcome you once again or for the first time.
The star of the event will of course remain the white truffle, which will be served in combination with diversified delicious specialities. You will have the opportunity to taste the fine cuisine in many different ways. Beside the elegance of Tuscany we will arrange a romantic excursion to Portovenere as well as three exciting golf rounds on two beautiful golf-courses of our region.
We are looking forward to welcome you during the first three weeks of October in the splendid scenery of the Hotel Villa Ariston **** Sup and to plunge in this magic week of holiday!

Protagonist remains the truffle, of course...

Supernatural powers and therapeutic effects were attributed to this precious bulb, that only grows on special grounds and under even so special weather conditions. Its origin remained unknown for a long time, until when Teofrasto di Ereso, an Aristotele’s student, found a “plausible” explanation for that: “The truffle comes down on earth accompanied by the autumn rain and it receives its force from the thunderbolts. In fact the lightning is the main reason for its birth.”
The most important and valuable kind is the “Tuber magnatum pico”, simply known as the white truffle: it can only be found at Alba (Piemont) and San Miniato (Tuscany). The delicate white truffle of Alba - whose taste is more refined than that of the other ones - is more celebrated than its “relative” of San Miniato, as the Tuscans prefer to enjoy it by
themselves instead of sharing it with the rest of the world!
