Piemonte

Acqui Terme Acqui Terme
The square “Piazza della Bollente”, right in the city centre, is named after the hot spring which is situated there spilling hot water at a temperature of 75° Celsius.
A visit to the archeological museum and the basilica of Saint-Pierre are an absolute must during your stay here! When walking down the back streets of Acqui Terme, you can stop and purchase some “Amaretti” (small, delicious almond biscuits), and the sweet wine “Dolcetto d’Acqui”, ideal for desserts.
Asti Asti
As you get towards Asti you will feel a sensation of well-being, emphasized by the beautiful, enthralling, peaceful landscape: vineyards everywhere, vineyard-covered rolling hills as far as the eye can see. From a historic point of view Asti has plenty to offer and there are three recommended walking tours in particular: a “medieval”, a “baroque” and an “Alfieriano” itinerary. The latter was named after the poet Vittorio Alfieri who was born and brought up in Asti.
The stunning cathedral is a unique architectural masterpiece. After discovering the city’s interesting history, you can go shopping in the city market on “Piazza Campo del Palio” where every year, in September the famous horse race “Palio” takes place.
Alba Alba
You will appreciate Alba for its outstanding cuisine as well as for its calm, quiet atmosphere. This small medieval village with its narrow back streets, not only boasts a long history but also a huge gourmet tradition, and it is the white truffle “world capital”.
In many grocery stores, most of which are situated on the main street, you can find that sought-after, expensive white bulb and also the finest gourmet delicacies. Wine enthusiasts can indulge themselves with wine-tastings of the best local wines such as “Docetto d’Alba” and “Barolo”!
Casale Monferrato Casale Monferrato
Although the old part of Casale Monferrato went through various changes over the centuries, the baroque style predominates and it is manifest in all the palaces’s facades.
The most important religious building is the cathedral which is of works of art and it is considered as one of the most important examples of the Romanesque-Gothic architecture. Those who have a sweet tooth will love the famous “Krumiri” cookies, based on a recipe dating back to 1870!
Gavi Gavi
For quite a while the Alps set the background while travelling towards Gavi. Then all of a sudden they disappear to leave room to a completely different landscape: the vineyard-covered rolling hills of Gavi. Gavi is mainly known for its wines and vineyards, although its history plays an important role as well. From the imposing 16th century fortress top you will enjoy an unobstructed view on the surrounding hills.
