From Lucca via Pisa to Vinci

Lucca: the historical centre is surrounded by a city-wall of 4 kilometres and can easily be visited from top to bottom in just one day. When you go through one of the many city-wall entrance doors, you will immediately notice that Lucca offers its cultural treasures as if they were all perfectly collected in an art essay. From the famous Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, where houses were built on the foundations of the Roman amphitheatre, you can reach the Torre Guinigi and the various sights. Pisa: Piazza dei Cavalieri and its impressive Palazzo dei Cavalieri are only a short walk from the worldwide famous Piazza dei Miracoli. This building, now an exclusive university college, was once the seat of the Knights of the Saint Stephen’s order. If you happen to go to the lively students’ district you will see the second leaning tower of Pisa that leans abandoned towards San Nicola’s church. |

Vinci:Vinci, a village dating from the Middle Ages, is set on a hill between Empoli and Florence and it is completely surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The 10th century castle “Guidi” hosts the museum “Leonardiano”, dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci. The museum is definitely worth a visit not only for technique enthusiasts but for everybody. A visit to the building that was once Leonardo da Vinci’s house (only 3 km from the museum) will round off your day!
